Don’t Make These Rookie Dating Mistakes
Making a good and lasting impression on your first date is vital. Avoid the common mistake of arriving late for your very first date. You should try your very best not to be late even for 5 minutes as it can give you a very bad impression. Being late on the first date is often seen as rude and purely unacceptable. Always be punctual for your first dates less you want to quickly forgotten as a date who is insensitive.
It is not uncommon for dates to feel tenses, anxious and nervous when it comes to the very first dates. Often than not, dates tend to try their utmost to impress their opposites and as a result, may overdo it at times. As an example, individuals tend to make the common mistake of overdressing for their dates. Although it is an act that should be praised, overdoing it can have its toll. It wouldn’t be appropriate to wear a low-neck dress with ultra-high and thick heels to an outdoor sporting event, would it?
First dates should be fun and relaxed. They are largely associated with getting acquainted with each other. Therefore, the topics of conversation should be light and general, focused on general questions about each other. Avoid one of the more common mistakes by bringing issues concerning sex, politics and religion. This can make the situation awkward and tense. You may offend your date without you even realizing it (if you are insensitive enough to bring up these topics to begin with).
You should place your utmost priority on your very first date. Treat it as if it is your very first (and last). Do everything you can to make a good impression on your date but more importantly, do everything in your power to keep the date. Do not cancel your date and do not stand your date up at all cost. Should the need arise for you to cancel your date, be sure to inform her in advance and not at the very last minute. Apologize to your date and try to arrange for a different date.
When you go on a first date, never dominate a conversation. Take the time to breathe in between your conversation. Try to select topics of conversation that will allow for a two-way conversation. First dates can be tensed especially if the conversation go awry. Instead of asking questions that will give you a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ answer, bring topics of conversation that can generate her opinion. This can help her get in the mood to converse and to open up to you.
